Background and Motivation
The IUI demo session is intended to provide a showcase for innovative implementations, systems and technologies demonstrating new ideas about how people and computers could interact. If you can demonstrate smarter, easier to use, and more effective interfaces, we *want* to see it!
Demostrators are intended to convey a scientific result or work in progress.
Submission Requirements for Demo Proposals
IUI 2008 welcomes your submission to the demo session. Descriptions of the demonstration are due October 5th, 2008 and should not exceed 2 pages in the standard SIGCHI publications format. If your submission is accepted, these 2 pages will be included in the conference proceedings.
For your convenience, we provide paper templates in Microsoft Word and LaTeX:
The submission should include:
- References to previously published work (if possible), and/or sufficient details regarding the underlying technologies. In either case, demo papers should describe how the system is used to solve practically important problems, and may contain discussion of system implementation, deployment, or case studies of use in the field.
- An additional short informal description of their proposed presentation (2-3 pages). Please describe what attendees will be able to see or do during your demo (e.g. screenshots), and itemize any equipment or facilities that you will require for your system demonstration.
